John Proctor (Hero?)
Throughout the story, John Proctor has through the events of witchcraft proven himself to show many qualities of being a Hero. He may not be the perfect man and questionable due to his sin, however, even that just adds to his role as a somewhat tragic hero/ or building up to him being a self-sacrificial hero. He first clearly shows these qualities by pushing away Abigail so as to control himself from sinning, which shows his willingness to be a "good and upstanding citizen" at least due to the standards of the society at the time. The second time he shows these qualities more clearly is his defense of his wife to the point of self-sacrifice and confession to his sins while bravely doing what others couldn't (criticizing the court). His final and most heroic act comes from refusing to sign the testament which allowed for him to heroicly repent for his sins which led to the Salem witch trials finally dispersing.

Self-Intro
Hello, My name is John Wu. Also known to some as KimJohnWu, or ParmeSaladKimgJohnWutChesseKjeep. I've been in Chicago for my entire life or at least the most of it. That, however, does not indicate my familiarity with Chicago being that my daily life has been either me being at home and doing whatever and going to school. Perhaps the only time where I actually step foot elsewhere is on the field trips to Springfield, madison, and Washington DC during 5th, 6th, and 8th grade respectively. I have been at and in other schools in Chicago as well due to my ties with math team and attending the competitions. Math team is an all around great experience, it requires critical thinking to solve the hardest of problems. Stuff like this drowns you in satisfaction when you solve a hard problem, and also tears of self-loathing and regret along with bottles of cheez-its when you realize that the one hard problem you got right is worth just as much as the 5 you got wrong due to silly mistakes. That aside math team is probably one of my favorite places where I feel like I'm in a community of people who relate to and respect what I enjoy doing. Aside from that, I enjoy eating, sleeping, doing nothing productive, procrastinating (until the last day when I'm freaking out). As such the things I loathe are silly mistakes (like forgetting about this blog until 2 days after it was due), the last day of procrastination, and Mondays.
My summer was pretty normal, for the most part, I just stayed home doing whatever, however when I wasn't home you'd probably see me walking down the street posting posters or handing out flyers. Aside from that, I went to YSP in UC. YSP or the young scholar program was a math program for people interested in math, number theory was great but infinity was pretty hard to wrap my head around but I managed. I am pretty excited about certain classes, such as mandarin since we'll be watching dramas for homework and in class, the gym will probably be just like normal, math would also be a breather like last year, the same with computer science. APUSH is a lot of notes but it's not as hard as I thought. Finally, while literature has never exactly been my favorite subject, I think I will still enjoy the class because my teacher is pretty cool.
